Description of the trek:

Located in Manali, Himachal Pradesh, you’ll reach the Bhrigu Lake after passing via the Gulaba hamlet, the basecamp, and Rola Kholi. At an elevation of 10,300 feet, Gulaba is located about 22 KM from Manali. Following a brief period of cooling off at Gulaba, you will need to hike for around 4 to 5 hours to reach the Rola Kholi campground, which is located at an elevation of 12,500 feet and is renowned for its difficult ascent. Passing via Kolang Nallah is required. The oak, cedar, and silver birch tree-filled forests along this path are well-known for being pristine and virgin. The breathtaking view of Manali and the Solang valley that it offers should not be missed. Additionally, you’ll have to camp here in tents. Also, keep an eye out for Hanuman Tibba Peak.

The following day, as sleeping by the oval lake is not permitted, you must set out at sunrise for the hike to the Bhrigu Lake and then return by the same route. Approximately 14,100 feet above sea level, Bhrigu Lake is located. Ten kilometers are covered in the round trip trek from Rola Kholi to Bhrigu Lake and back to Rola Kholi. Since the rugged landscape is frequently covered in snow, this track is both breathtaking and thrilling. When you get to the Bhrigu Lake, the Indrasen, Deo, and Hanuman peaks are all clearly visible. You must start your trip returning to the tent once you have had enough time to take in the stunning surroundings. A 4000-year-old temple is located near the village of Vasisth, which is where you must hike after that in order to reach the Pandu Ropa hamlet. The Rola Kholi campsite will have to be your home for the evening. The following day, you must hike from Rola Kholi to Gulaba before taking a car to Manali to begin your return trip. About 6 km is covered on the return journey. You can also visit some popular weekend getaways from Delhi like jaipur ,agra, Rishikesh .

Some of the noteworthy sceneries:

* The Bhrigu Lake trek’s beginning is at Gulaba. The abyss and the distant, icy peaks may both be seen in great detail from this vantage point.

* At an elevation of roughly 3,800 meters (12,500 feet), Rola Kholi is a charming camp. Views of the Solang Valley’s lush meadows and snow-capped peaks are breathtaking from here.

* The journey’s culmination is when you arrive to Bhrigu Lake. The neighboring mountain ranges, which include ranges like Hanuman Tibba, Seven Sisters, and Deo Tibba, will meet you with beautiful vistas as you get closer to the lake. It is a mesmerizing sight as the lake’s crystal-clear waters reflect the soaring peaks.

* There are many places along the pathway leading to Bhrigu Lake where you can get an aerial perspective of the Himalayas. These vantage locations give the chance to take in the region’s untamed aesthetics, with its high terrain, wide canyons, and snow-covered peaks.

Is the Bhrigu Lake Trek difficult?

* Roughly 4,300 meters (14,100 ft) above the surface of the ocean, Bhrigu Lake can be found there. Due to the lower oxygen levels, hiking at higher altitudes might be difficult. In order to reduce the possibility of experiencing difficulties associated to elevation, it is crucial to acclimatize appropriately and ascend gradually.

* The walk includes a range of terrains, including rocky stretches, steep ascents, and descents. The hiking path can be muddy in some places, particularly subsequent to rain or during the monsoon. While crossing these terrains, stability and good balance are crucial.

* The Bhrigu Lake trip typically lasts three to four days and covers about 26 kilometers (16 miles) in total. The amount of time spent trekking each day varies depending on the group’s speed and is typically several hours. Physical stamina is needed to trek for several days straight.

* The Himalayan region’s weather can be erratic and subject to sudden changes. The walk may experience cold weather, snowfall, and rain. It’s critical to have adequate attire and equipment for a variety of weather situations.

When should you go for this trek?

The Bhrigu Lake trip is thought to be best done between May and June. The weather is often nice, with daytime highs of 50 to 68 degrees Fahrenheit and lows of 10 to 20 degrees Celsius. Higher elevations see the beginning of snowmelt, which opens up the hiking path.  A stunning setting for the hike, the surroundings come to life with brilliant flora and vibrantly coloured pastures. It is crucial to remember that as the warmer months wears on, temperatures might change quickly and there might even be a few sprinkles of rain.

An additional fantastic opportunity to hike to Bhrigu Lake is after the rains. The neighboring mountains may be seen clearly because of the normally shining skies and frequent sunshine. The walk is bearable due to the milder temperatures, which range from 5 to 15 degrees Celsius (41 to 59 degrees Fahrenheit). As fall approaches, the foliage becomes golden, enhancing the natural splendor of the surrounding area.
